Ultramarathon Training – Intro

As I mentioned in my last post, I’m changing my direction with ABT to solely provide information and inspiration to my followers. As a part of that, I’ll be posting pictures and videos of my own training as I venture into the ultramarathon world. I’m hoping that as you see my training on a daily basis, you’ll be inspired to push yourself a little harder every day. Ultramarathons are more of a mind game than the physical ability to run over 26.2 miles. You’ll understand that as you watch me test my mental strength through training and competition for 50k to 100 miles.

Most ultramarathons are ran on trails, so I’ve been getting a taste of it by exploring Forest Park. If you consider yourself a road runner, I encourage you to get out on the trails whenever you can. There’s something about it that just takes away the stress of life and lets you truly enjoy your run. Here’s a few pictures I snapped on the Leif Erickson and Wildwood Trails:

I’ll also be posting reviews about products I test and use during my own training, such as shoes, hydration gear, fuel, recovery, etc. Make sure you check them out if you’re getting some gear for yourself. Trust me, reading reviews on products has saved me a ton of time, money and comfort.

That’s all for now, but there will be plenty more to come. Make sure to keep following and post any questions you have. If you want to check out some of the races I’ll be doing, use this link for the Oregon Trail Ultramarathon series events: http://oregontrailseries.org/
